106 & Gospel?

First of all…welcome back.  I’ve been on a severe hiatus.  I apologize about that.  Well, I’m back to keep The Blospel more updated.  Now on to some fresh news.

Now…The only thing I wish is that it had another name for it, but I guess 106 & Gospel will do for now.  I don’t know about the “roof-raising” part.  It seems a little 1990-ish to me, but eh…hopefully it will work.  I personally think Tye should be the host, but knowing BET, they’ll probably holla at Kirk first.  At any rate, I hope it all works out.

November 06, 2007. WASHINGTON (AP)- The top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee said Tuesday he has launched an investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing involving six well-known televangelists — including two based in Georgia.

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa sent letters to six Christian media ministries this week requesting information about their expenses, executive compensation and amenities given to executives.

Among them are Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia and Creflo Dollar Ministries of College Park.

Grassley said he is following up on complaints from the public and news coverage. He said the allegations involve governing boards that aren’t independent and allow generous salaries and housing allowances and amenities such as private jets and Rolls Royces.

Also named by Grassley as targets of the investigation are Paula White Ministries of Tampa, Florida; Benny Hinn Ministries of Grapevine, Texas; Joyce Meyer Ministries of Fenton, Missouri; and Kenneth Copeland Ministries of Newark, Texas.

Now, normally I don’t agree with what mediatakeout has to say, because it’s a predominantly gossip site, but whenever you start off with (AP) near the beginning of an article, it’s pretty official. I also took the time to google this matter, and other OFFICIAL sites are confirming this as well. What do you think?

On the same day a lawsuit against Oral Roberts University, President Richard Roberts and three school officials was amended to add libel, slander or defamation accusations, the school announced an investigation into allegations made in the suit.

The lawsuit was changed Thursday after Roberts told students at a weekly chapel service Wednesday that the lawsuit against him is about intimidation, blackmail and extortion.

Three professors said they lost their jobs because of a report about the Richard Roberts family.

Three former Oral Roberts University professors sued the school and four administrators in Tulsa County District Court on Tuesday, alleging wrongful termination and wrongful causing of one professor’s resignation.

The professors said they lost their jobs because they turned over to administrators a report that alleged the Richard Roberts family extensively spent university money for personal uses. Roberts is ORU’s president.

This award is my God now!” The Catholic community (and Christians) are outraged at this, and has forced many media fronts to censor this. This is absolutely not surprising. You can say whatever about Jesus and get laughs, but can’t talk about Jews and Muhammad. This is ridiculous! Reverend (emphasis on Reverend) Jesse Jackson and Reverend Al Sharpton can rally up people to protest and ban the n-word, but cannot be found when people are joking about Jesus. The Jesus haters are getting more bold. We cannot be passive about who we are.
